This is a beautiful rhodizite crystal from Madagascar. It is nestled near the contact edge of the matrix, which also hosts abundant rubellite crystals. I was in Madagascar when these were coming out. It is amazing how small a vein contained these wonderful crystals. The rhodizite is a hextetrahedral form - a rare mineral and a rare crystal form in one specimen. Overall size 3 x 4 x 5 cm.
