The stout crystal in the front of this vesuvianite measures 2.8 x 1.3 x 0.9 cm. It is much thicker than most crystals I have seen from this locality. It is decorated with a smaller crystal leaning against it in the opposite direction. The crystal in back has a contact, but it really serves as matrix from the main crystals in front. You used to see quite a bit of this material at every mineral show. Now, it is much less common. But thick crystals like this one were always rare. The piece measure 2.9 x 2.8 x 2.8 cm overall.
