Barite
Annabel Lee mine, Hardin Co., Illinois

These are the oddest barite specimens I've ever seen. They came out in the 1980's from the Annabel Lee Mine in Illinois and I have never seen anything similar from anywhere else in the world (someone correct me if you know better). I would LOVE an explanation as to how they formed. This specimen reminds me of a pair of ballroom dancers twirling around the room and each other. It measures 4.3 x 1.2 x 1.7 cm.
