Copper
Central Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA

This is a very heavy copper specimen from Michigan. It features a single well crystallized copper at the top middle of the piece. It is surrounded by small accents of green epidote. In a few of the copper vugs there are some very small clear to orangish crystals that I think are andularia crystals. Nothing spectacular, but if they are not minute calcites, it is the first time I have seen adularia on a copper specimen. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough before? This piece is wonderful without damage and a very simple old label. Probably never cleaned (and don't clean it!). 6.2 x 4 x 5.3 cm. The large single crystal is about 2.2 cm tall. See the old label below.
