Beluchistan (Belochistan) has produced some wonderful epidotes in recent years. I was importing some of the large blocky epidotes very early on. Next came some wonderful fan shaped crystal aggregates without matrix. And now this one, a crazy group of radial crystal \"shrubs\" on matrix.<BR><BR>
This is a small cabinet specimen measuring 11 x 8.5 x 6 cm. The contrast in the specimen makes it difficult to capture the mossy green of the epidotes in my video: they are a much nicer (lighter) green in person. They are also very lustrous and without damage. The bottom of the matrix could be trimmed, or the piece mounted in on a stand to lean it back a little and better display the epidotes. On the back of the matrix you can see some natural cracks that were probably caused by growth of the epidotes. The piece is very strong, however, not fragile.
