Magnetite
Bom Sucesso Creek, Serro, Minas Gerais, Brazil

For such a common mineral (I even found a bunch of it in my backyard as a kid), magnetite specimens are not that easy to obtain. There are some very nice pieces from Bolivia, and probably many other places, but not that many collectible pieces make it to the market that I am aware of. This piece is from Brazilm and it is two intergrown crystals in a slate green colored matrix. The piece is 3.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm, and the larger magnetite is a little over a centimeter on one edge. One sub-millimeter ding only visible under strong light: essentially no damage.
