Quartz with Hematite inclusions Yuncheng, Shanxi, China
This is a large specimen measuring 22 x 11.5 x 6.5 cm. It is in much better shape than most of the piece from this limited find. The tallest crystal near the top has a damaged tip, and there are a few more small problems here and there. But the luster is fantastic and the color of the hematite inclusions is striking. Under a strong light (sunlight or bright lights) it is a bright red. Under dimmer lights it is more brick red. Very even color covered with an optically clear last growth of quartz. This is one of the largest specimens I have seen from this find. It appears to have detached from the quartz vein naturally as some of the back is rehealed. I do not seen pieces from this location on the market anymore.
