Kamacite, Taenite and Olivine meteorite
Seymchan (1967), Magadanskaya Oblast, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

This is a highly unusual differentiated pallistite meteorite, meaning the olivine is not spread evenly throughout the piece. It is a highly lustrous (polished and etched) 2 mm thick slice (7.3 x 10.4 cm) of a pallasite stony-iron meteorite, showing well the widmanstatten pattern of exsolved, crystalline kanacite and taenite iron-nickel minerals and dark brown olivine crystals. Many of the olivine crystals are transparent or translucent. A superb piece of one of the rarest and most beautiful meteorites. Unlike any I have seen before.
