Item #10420
Calcite, Chalcedony and Stilbite
Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India

There is a famous mineral specimen from India referred to as the "cricket bat" for its resemblance to the paddle shaped bat used to play cricket. This wonderful piece is a very similar looking specimen. The handle is blue-grey chalcedony, topped with a white calcite "paddle", and decorated with pale pink stilbites. This specimen was in Hemant Merchant's private collection for many years. It is a must have for the serious collector of Indian minerals. A small cabinet specimen measuring 13.5 x 6 x 5 cm. There is a contact from a missing tilbite on the top right of the calcite, but there is no damage.
