Adularia on Quartz
Tormiq, Haramosh Mountains, Skardu, NA, Pakistan

This small hand specimen of adularia on quartz from Pakistan has wonderful aesthetics, is without damage, and is exceptionally bright and clean. The main adularia group rises 5 cm above the surrounding matrix, and is supported from behind by a water clear quartz crystal. A smaller tower of adularia complements the first, rising off to one side on the right. The adularia growth reminds me of a quartz faden crystal, and the does, indeed, appear to be a "thread" in the middle of the smaller tower, which is somewhat translucent. I know it is only quartz and adularia (with a tiny bit of actinolite of byssolite buried in the bottom), but this piece is exceptional. 6.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm.
